Item serial number change on rentals

In our Viberent application we are only using serial numbers in rentals/Invoices. If we want to change the serial number for the line item in rentals/Invoices we need to do the following steps.

Open the existing rental/Invoice by accessing Transaction -> rentals/Invoices and by clicking on search button you can select an entry from the list and double click or click on use entry to open the rental.

1. Un-Posted rentals.

By editing the line item you can change the serial number and save the line item.

Save the overall rental then it will change the selected serial number.

1. Posted rentals.

We cannot change the serial number for the posted item. So we have provided an option under items list called “Update Serial number”. Upon clicking this button a popup will appear with serial number items alone.

In this small window for each item the available serial number will list in the list. We can change the serial number by clicking edit icon.

From the list you can change the serial number which you want. This will not affect any calculation of invoice. This will just update the serial number only for all the posted invoices.
