Creating Serial Number Inventory Items

Tracking items by serial number allows you to allocate a specific number (asset number / serial number) to each inventory item. 

Note: When tracking items by serial number, each serial numbered item has the same item-code. 

When selecting Item Tracking by Serial Number - you can allocate serial numbers in the stock details tab as shown below;

Manual Entry 

By selecting "manual" in the top left corner of the stock details screen, you can input your existing serial numbers, tick Active box and press Save to create the item. Viberent will create a barcode number for each one of your serial number items. If you do not intend on using barcodes at present, you can simply ignore the barcode number. Each item is created as "Active" by default - you can make the item inactive by deselecting the active box in stock details.

Auto Entry

By selecting "Auto" in the top left corner of the stock details screen, you can allocate the quantity of serial number items you would like to create. Viberent will generate random serial numbers for each of your items.

Note: If you create a serial number inventory item without any serial numbers listed in "stock details" - the item will not be available to select in any transactions.
